Frequently Asked Questions

What audio formats does Audbin support?

Audbin supports MP3, M4A, M4B, AIFF, and WAV files. You can import files from the Files app or other apps on your device.

Where are my audiobooks stored?

All audio files are stored locally on your device in the app's private storage. We never upload your files to any server.

Does the app work offline?

Yes! Audbin works entirely offline. No internet connection is required after you've imported your audiobooks.

Can I control playback with AirPods?

Yes! You can play/pause with a single tap, skip forward with a double tap, and skip backward with a triple tap.

How do I transfer audiobooks to the app?

Tap the + button in the app and select files from the Files app. You can also share audio files from other apps directly to Audbin.

When will Audbox Podcasts be available?

We're working hard on version 2.0. Sign up on our homepage to be notified when we launch!

Importing Audible Audiobooks

Audible uses DRM protection, so their files can't be played directly. However, you can convert audiobooks you've purchased for personal use:

Option 1: Libation (Free, Open Source)

1. Download Libation for Windows/Mac/Linux
2. Sign in with your Audible/Amazon account
3. Select your books and click "Liberate" → Export as M4B (keeps chapters)
4. Import the M4B files into Audbin

Option 2: OpenAudible (Paid, User-Friendly)

1. Download OpenAudible ($19 one-time)
2. Connect your Audible account
3. Download and convert your library to M4B or MP3
4. Import into Audbin

Why M4B format?

M4B preserves chapter markers, so you can navigate your audiobook by chapter in Audbin. MP3 works too, but you'll lose chapter navigation.
